Following the US Vice President, Joe Biden, announcing his 2020 presidential bid on Sunday morning, President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Sunday afternoon to disparage the timing of Biden’s announcement.

“Vice President Biden couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Delaware,” he tweeted, before accusing his former presidential rival of disloyalty.

“You mean he can’t even get elected the President of the United States. Lie!” he continued.

Trump’s comments come two days after a defiant Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, also a prospective 2020 candidate, criticized Trump’s demeanor at a UN conference in New York.

“My issue isn’t about President Trump. My issue is that a strong America is a powerful America,” Graham told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “I’m glad it’s in his head. I don’t want him to flounder. I want him to go to states that were red 2016 and put a plan out to turn them blue. I want to see President Trump center his presidency around governing.”

“But I’m not going to act like a chump just because President Trump’s ego is bruised. When the President decides to throw a punch, I know which side I’m on.”
