Amy Schneider was already a Jeopardy! championship contestant when she was asked to meet with “The Wizard of Oz” author L. Frank Baum, and on Wednesday, October 26, that same woman became the latest “Jeopardy!” contestant to make a bid to become the undisputed champion of the game show’s long history, and to take the position as the undisputed ruler of the annual television competition show.
This was not just a one-off occurrence. In the last few weeks, as the annual event known as “Jeopardy!, Jeopardy! Canada” has been airing on CBC TV in Canada, the Canadian champion has taken home three consecutive crowns.
She defeated Michelle “Jeopardy!” champion Jennifer Carroll on Saturday night, but on Monday she became the first person to defeat a regular contestant as well. On that day, the Canadian champion defeated all five of the regular contestants from the previous days’ rounds on the show.
After the game show’s third week on CBC, which has seen the Canadian champion beat Canadian Jeopardy! champion Ryan Trepanier (who beat Canadian Jeopardy! champion Jason Fogg), an American Jeopardy! contestant in his first game show appearance, the former Canadian champion has now won the whole five game show weeks in a row.
She now owns a record five consecutive victories and is now the reigning champion of “Jeopardy!” and the host of “Jeopardy!” Canada.
And now another “Jeopardy!” contestant in the Canadian champion’s household — her mother, Christine Schneider — has added her voice to the Canadian champion’s support.
“The ‘Jeopardy!’ Canadian champion has won a total of 5 consecutive weeks of televised competition and has now become the reigning ‘Jeopardy!’ Canadian champion. This victory is not just a one-night victory. It is a victory for all Canadians, for all Canadians in every province, region, city and town throughout Canada, for every single Canadian who wants us and our game show to thrive and thrive and thrive”, tweeted the mother
