More bad news for Swifties: Ticketmaster cancels Friday on-sale for Taylor’s Eras tour
Eras’ lineup for a show in Austin includes pop icon Kanye West
Taylor Swift is scheduled to perform three of her newest tunes Friday on a tour that she’s just confirmed in a new promotional site and the first of a two-week stand in the States, leading many Swifties to wonder when—or if—the tour will happen.
The biggest question: Will tickets sold to the Texas megachurch or small-town venue hold up to Swift’s current state of mind?
If that holds, Swifties should be pleased that some of the biggest artists from her past are on the bill for two of her biggest hits.
First, there’s Kanye West, who not only is on Saturday’s bill, but whose hit “All Of The Lights” has charted at No. 4. (In its Hot 100 debut, his song reached No. 5.) And Swift’s new single, “Shake It Off,” is on the bill as well, hitting No. 23. It’s the first time the singer has played “Shake It Off” in three years.
Then there’s Eminem, another artist who has often shared the same stage with Swift, and who has been on Swift’s recent touring plan. His tour has included performances in New York, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, and Jacksonville, Fla., according to the tour’s website. The rapper’s new studio album, “The Marshall Mathers LP 2,” is due out Jan. 29.
The biggest question: Will tickets held by current Swifties for Friday’s show hold up to Swift’s current state of mind?
It’s a question that Swift’s team is hoping it can turn to good use. While a lot of Swift fans are eager to see the star perform at the “Smash Hits” tour’s venue in Austin, Taylor Swift’s team has revealed that she’ll be performing later Friday in Nashville, Tenn., just a half-hour from Swift’s hometown.
