A Timeline of the Jussie Smollett Case
May 26, 2019 : Chicago Police charge Smollett with filing a false police report, initially filing it after reporting the attack for months.
June 1, 2019 : Smollett is arrested and faces no bail.
June 17, 2019 : Smollett appears in court. Bail is set at $100,000 with the requirement that he wear an electronic monitoring device.
September 8, 2019 : FBI confirms that the same device recovered from the apartment block Smollett was seen with during his interrogation used to contact people in Covington Catholic High School.
November 7, 2019 : Smollett says in a statement: “That I need closure is paramount in my mind.”
November 7, 2019 : Smollett pulls out of live interview on Good Morning America, one day before the program is scheduled to air. A spokeswoman for GMA says that the meeting with ABC was off, and Smollett contacted “gMA” two hours later to cancel the interview.
November 9, 2019 : Smollett posts on Instagram: “I love this country and want to help build it up. There are many hate groups in this country, I do not belong to any of them and have no desire to. Be proud as hell.”
December 8, 2019 : Smollett posts: “Hiding your face does not make you safer… ” This post is removed.
