Soccer star Paul Pogba’s brother arrested in connection with alleged extortion attempt
Pogba’s brother was arrested in connection with an alleged extortion attempt by an Argentine-based private security firm
The incident comes after the brother was involved in an incident in which an employee of an apartment building lost his job.
In a follow-up tweet, the manager, who was in charge of the building where Pogba lives said that an attempt was made to extort him out of $3,000.
Pogba and his brother will both appear in court on December 8 for a hearing that will determine whether either will be released or charged.
In the incident, the building employee, who was later fired, reportedly called a friend in Argentina to see if he knew whether or not there was an offer for the apartment.
An Argentine-based private security firm contacted the employee and took a test to determine if there were any hidden cameras inside the building.
That firm was later alleged to have tried and failed to extort the employee out of $3,000.
The incident happened last week. The employee who was fired is claiming that the incident and events surrounding it took place as a result of the work of an “illegal agent” paid to “stalk” him. “He is the one who made the attempt with the attempt,” the employee is alleging.
Pogba has not commented on the incident.
Earlier, police officers were searching the home and office of Pogba’s brother, Alen, in the Spanish city of Granada.
Police reportedly found the keys to the apartment of the former FC Barcelona player in the vehicle where he was supposed to be staying.
Pogba’s brother was in Spain to visit his mother, in the process of moving there as part of the family’s plans to move to Spain in 2018.
Police also raided the homes of the rest of his siblings, his father and two other children.
